Awana Featured in Global Missions
Video Series & Curriculum for Children

Now Awana can be seen online in a global mission adventure series for kids. The Mission Explorers Video Series is now streaming at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org. It has been used in thousands of churches to introduce children to the work of missionaries.

“This series is perfect for Awana theme night and Awana council time,” says Carey Kinsolving, the producer and director of the series. “We feature Awana Clubs in Africa, Philippines and Bolivia. I worked very closely with Awana to produce a first-rate series.”

Mission Explorers is designed to show missions through the eyes and experience of 11-year-old Hillary Welborn, the winner of the Children’s Bible Contest.  More than 100 hours of video were shot on locations around the globe to produce this pioneering series.

“Instead of hearing about the work of missionaries, children experience real mission work through one of their peers,” says Kinsolving. “It’s the next best thing to actually going on a global mission trip yourself.”

Each Awana Club in the series has something different for viewer. The African Awana Club in Zimbabwe shows kids playing Awana games, memorizing Bible verses and singing just as they do in the US. An African Awana missionary tells Hillary the story of how Awana first came to Zimbabwe. In the Philippines, Hillary helps the children from Faith Academy with an Awana Club among poor children who live in a slum area. In Bolivia, Hillary learns how to hit the piñata wearing a blindfold. Awana kids threw a huge birthday party for her.

The 13-lesson series is free to watch online. Awana Club leaders who want to use it for an Awana theme night or council time may purchase a Mission Explorers DVD that comes with a downloadable curriculum. A sample lesson may be requested online at no charge. The price for the DVD and 13-lesson curriculum is $95 plus $4.50 shipping.
