In early May, 7-year-old Caroline Green and her siblings answered and illustrated more questions for the Children’s International Arts Festival. What she didn’t know is that her mother and father already knew that she had been selected as one of seven dude ranch family vacation winners for 2010. A few days later, Caroline received a phone call from Colorado dude ranch owner Jack Allard: “I want to let you know that you have been selected as a winner. You have won a vacation for your whole family at the Coulter Lake Guest Ranch in Colorado.”

Caroline's written answer to the same festival question

"Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I drew a picture of a man telling another man about Jesus and the man said if he believed in the Lord Jesus then he would be saved. The man who was learning about Jesus was getting his blindfold taken off because he saw the light. Jesus is the light of the world."

Winterville Girl, 7, Wins Dude Ranch Vacation for Family With Artwork
Sixth of Seven Dude Ranch Vacations To Be Awarded in 2010 Online Festival

Winterville, N.C., May 6, 2010 – Earlier this week, 7-year-old Caroline Green and her siblings answered and illustrated more questions for the Children’s International Arts Festival. What she didn’t know is that her mother and father already knew that she had been selected as one of seven dude ranch family vacation winners for 2010.

Today, Green received a phone call from Colorado dude ranch owner Jack Allard: “I want to let you know that you have been selected as a winner. You have won a vacation for your whole family at the Coulter Lake Guest Ranch in Colorado.”

“Thank you,” said Green, who has never ridden a horse.

Green and her family will enjoy majestic vistas from horseback on rides up to 10,000 feet at the Coulter Lake Guest Ranch nestled in a small mountain valley at 8,100 feet near Rifle, Colorado (www.coulterlake.com). Located on a spring-fed lake, the ranch is famous for its winding rides through groves of aspen trees so majestic and peaceful that it has become known as the Aspen Cathedral.

Green drew a picture in response to the question, “How do you know you’re going to heaven?” Her drawing will appear in the Kids Color Me Bible Gospel of John at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org. Winners from the past two years have already been published in the first 12 chapters of the free, online, storybook Bible.

“Caroline’s artwork is exceptional, especially for a 7-year-old,” said Carey Kinsolving, author, syndicated columnist and founder of the Children’s International Arts Festival. “It’s going to look great in the Kids Color Me Bible Gospel of John.” Green’s winning artwork can be seen at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org/caroline.

The purpose of the Children’s International Arts Festival is to foster Bible literacy. “Some children become highly motivated to squeeze every ounce of meaning from a Bible text when there is a dude ranch vacation looming just over the horizon,” said Kinsolving. All the information about the online festival can be found at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org. Green is the sixth of seven 2010 dude ranch vacation winners announced this year.

The Children's International Arts Festival is sponsored by KidsTalkAboutGod.org and participating dude ranches. Festival organizer Carey Kinsolving writes a weekly Kids Talk About God column, distributed through Creators Syndicate, and has produced a series of popular TV spots for an ABC affiliate that can be seen on the Kids Talk About God website.
