Two Dude Ranch Family Vacations Offered as Prizes for 2016-17 Festival

For the past four years, Valley children have won Colorado dude ranch vacations for their families plus cash for travel expenses. Next April, two more children who live or attend school in the Rio Grande Valley will win dude ranch vacations for their families.

Last year was the first time we had two winners, one from each age group. This went very well and we are doing it again this coming year!

Medicine Bow Lodge near Saratoga, Wyoming and Coulter Lake Guest Ranch in Rifle, Colorado are two amazing places with incredible owners. Our winners and their families will have the best vacations ever!

The strength of Medicine Bow Lodge (8400 feet) is the diversity of its riding terrain. There are a lot of mountain streams to ride through and over, forests where you can enjoy an amazing sunset ride and mountain trails where horses prove to be sure-footed.

Coulter Lake Guest Ranch is nestled alongside a spring-fed lake and surrounded with majestic stands of aspen. Each ride is more glorious than the last as you pass through what some call the "aspen cathedral." There are plenty of fun activities and delicious food!

The 2016-17 festival is open to all children (ages 5-12) who live or attend school in the Rio Grande Valley. There is never an entry fee. The deadline is December 15, 2016. Voting for semi-finalists to make the finals should take place in February 2017. After that, 20 finalists will be announced, five of whom were winners in the online voting during the semi-finalist phase. Winners will be announced April 29, 2017 in McAllen. They will enjoy their vacation prizes that summer.
